5. Letter from Ms. Rizza D. Sion, CESE, Provincial Director, Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), this Province dated March 10, 2025, copy furnished this Body with Subject: 2nd District Women’s Congress, in reference to the Sangguniang Panlalawigan Resolution No. 2929-25 adopted on March 4, 2025 requesting the DILG-Surigao del Sur to encourage all Punong Barangays in the 2nd District to allow their respective Barangay Women’s Association Presidents to participate in the aforementioned activity on March 14, 2025 at Bislig City Convention Center, Bislig City, Surigao del Sur. The latter informed the Body that this initiative aligns with PCW Memorandum Circular No. 2025-01, which promotes various activities in celebration of Women’s Month. According to her, the event aims to foster unity share best practices, and strengthen women’s initiatives at the grassroots level. In line with this all concerned Punong Barangays are encouraged to support and allow the attendance of their Barangay Women’s Association Presidents at the said activity, for the Body’s information.
6. Letter from RD Mario P. Cuñado, Regional Director, Department of Information and Communication Technology (DICT), Caraga Region XIII, Butuan City dated March 06, 2025, addressed to Honorable Anthony Joseph P. Cañedo, Sangguniang Panlalawigan Member, Office of the Provincial Council, this Province, in response to SP Resolution No. 2868-25, dated February 18, 2025, requesting the replacement or renewal of the terminated of expired Free WiFi Site at Hinatuan Municipal Hall and Hinatuan District Hospital. According to him, they recognize the importance of Free Wi-Fi connectivity in these locations, particularly in enhancing healthcare and other government services, for the benefit of the people of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur. The latter informed the Body that last August 24, 2024, three (3) Free WiFi Hotspots were installed at LGU Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur under the Provision of Internet Connectivity in Municipalities Phase 2 (PICS-Municipalities Phase 2), specifically at Hinatuan Municipal Hall, Hinatuan District Hospital and Hinatuan Southern College, for the Body’s information.
7. Letter from Engr. James J. Gantalao, Assistant General Manager for Engineering, Philippine Ports Authority, dated March 6, 2025, addressed to the Honorable Members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan, Office of the Provincial Council, all of this Province, with Subject: Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) Resolution No. 2910-25 earnestly requesting PPA Surigao City through its Manager Mr. Froilan U. Catarla to design the port of Tabon, City of Bislig as port to be utilized by sea vessels with a 3-tonnage capacity and a drop of 5 meters. The latter informed the Body that the Tabon Port Rehabilitation Project is included for the implementation in the PPA Head Office Prioritized List of Proposed Engineering Projects (PLOPEP) for CY 2025. Further, he informed that a technical inspection will be scheduled to assess the necessary developments in the area, for the Body’s information.
