Perez II, J.D., Secretary to the Sangguniang Panlalawigan, this Province, a response to Sangguniang Panlalawigan Resolution No. 1085-26, Series of 2026, entitled “Earnestly Requesting Engr. Jerome S. Mezo, District Engineer, 2nd Engineering District Office, Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), this Province to Establish a Monument Similar in Size as the Original Monument Demarkating the Boundary Between Barangay Campbagang, Municipality of Barobo, Surigao del Sur and Alegria, Municipality of San Francisco, Agusan del Sur”. He informed the Body that, after careful evaluation, their Office is unable to act on the requested installation since the markers being referred is a political or administrative boundary marker and not a highway right-of-way or road boundary markers that fall within the jurisdiction and mandate of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH). He further explained that the determination, establishment, and installation of political boundary markers are functions vested in the appropriate government agencies responsible for territorial and administrative boundary matters. As such, any action concerning the installation of these markers should be coordinated with and undertaken by the rightful government agency having the legal authority and technical jurisdiction over political boundary delineation. Anent this, he respectfully recommended that the matter be referred to the appropriate agency for proper evaluation and action in accordance with existing laws, rules, and regulations, for the Body’s information and appropriate action. 26-06126

She informed the Body that pursuant to lnter-Agency Council Against Trafficking (IACAT) Memorandum Circular No. 1, Series of 2026, which prescribes the guidelines for the observance of the National Anti-Trafficking Awareness Month (NATAM) and the World Day Against Trafficking in Persons (WDATIP), the RIACAT-VAWC Caraga will conduct a series of advocacy and service activities throughout July 2026. She further stated that one of the activities is the NATAM Culmination Activity, which aims to recognize the partner agencies that have actively supported the Committee's programs, activities, and initiatives throughout the observance. The event likewise serves as the ceremonial closing of the month-long campaign while emphasizing that the conclusion of the observance does not signify the end of the collective efforts to combat trafficking in persons and violence against women and children. She also highlighted the recognition of the Local Committees Against Trafficking and Violence Against Women and their Children (LCAT.VAWC) that attained the Highly Functional level during the 2026 LCAT-VAWC Functionality Assessment. In this regard, the Provincial Government of Surigao del Sur was respectfully invited to receive the award during the NATAM Culmination Activity, which will be held at Robinsons Place, Butuan City on August 5, 2026 at 1:00 PM, for the Body’s information. 26-06130
